I am wondering how much weight training should be done before it starts to make arm pump the worst. How can I do isometric muscle excerises, yet not have to worry about raising my blood pressure? Any other tips would be most excellent!

( training for mx) Get to the track early and push you bike around the track

I am only 16(turning 17 in July '07) and have been weight training since age 14. I would do a set of endurance(circuit training) and strenght training, regular weightlifing isn't going to be a negative when it comes to riding and hell, you might find you a new chic(if yur single ;)

Sports training is my game and most MX guys are pathetic when if comes to being anywhere in shape for the sport.

Plyometrics - upper and lower body training

fitball push ups....hold with hands and have a friend whack it while holding it in place. put your feet on it an do push ups until you are blue in the face...this is an indication you have done enough.

Core exercises- abdominals, lumbar spine and hip girdle!!! don't skip the hip girdle!

Do wind sprints at measured intervals from 8 seconds to 20 seconds. This will give your cardiovascular system the correct stress. don't rest more than 1 1/2 minutes between runs.

    work on single leg balance

    good luck and have fun.
