new 250x owner, need help identifying am parts on my bike

Hello everyone, I just bought a 2008 crf250x from my friend. I got it for a great price, it runs well but has some wear and tear I need to address. The chain broke on him and took out the front sprocket guard, and sheared off the mounting bosses and a small piece of the case that holds the shift lever. Everything still works as it should, but I will be replacing the left case and at that time rebuilding the bottom and top end. I'm a mechanic and will be doing the work myself. I've been riding for about 15 years on street and have borrowed other people's dirt bikes from time to time, including a DRZ 400 and a WR-250. I also owned a DR650 for about 6 months but never got serious into off-road. I decided to get serious into dirt and this is my first dirt bike.

Can anyone help me identify the aftermarket pieces on my bike? I'm pretty sure the rear brake pedal, the foot pegs and the muffler and the handlebars are aftermarket. I suspect the exhaust header is as well but I'm not sure. Thanks for any help.

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

From what I can see it looks like the full FMF exhaust for sure , the rear brake pedal is a Tusk , which is Rocky Mountain ATV in house brand .and both clutch and brake levers look to be ASV , which is a good brand , the rear sprocket is a Super Sprocket , another good brand , the Pro Taper bars are aftermarket , as stock bars are Renthal 7/8" and these are 1-1/8" with adaptors , and the Torc1 footpegs ( I do not think they make them anymore) , and a Factory Effex Seat cover and foam bump and Brake rotors seem to be aftermarket , and I am guessing a MT43 rear trials tire .... I see it still has the Smog Pump on it (that could go and make the bike run better)

That is all I can positively identify from the pics ... :-k 8-[

Thank you for the comprehensive analysis, that's helpful!

The previous owner told me he put a jetting kit in it, and since there is aftermarket exhaust there's a good chance he was doing the ccc mods I've read about and the smog pump was blocked off with jb weld.

I'll be taking the carb off to rebuild it, and checking what jets are in there, so I'll also check to see if the smog pump is blocked off.
