Hi all,
I'm new here. My 8 year old daughter has a CRF70. We'd like to get a 2nd set of wheels to put street tires on for minigp track riding etc. Looking for the most affordable way to go for now and if she takes to it then maybe open up to other options.

Just find a used set of CRF70 wheels and a 12/14 scooter tire combo?

Go with some other option that is 12/12?

I'm not very familiar with these bikes so I'm open to suggestions.

My suggestion would be to hit up EBay , or even Craigslist or if you have one nearby , a motorcycle wrecking yard ..... As you say , your daughter is only 8 , so a few things come to mind .... first , her interests may fade quickly to something else (or she may be a gearhead and fall in love with dirt) , and/or , she is going to outgrow the bike fairly quickly , so investing in a beginner/small bike , is just like spending tons of money on kids clothes , by the time you get home from the store , they are already 2 sizes too small ......

So my suggestion is to go as cost effective as possible , while achieving your goal , if the interest fades , or she outgrows it quickly , you can still recoup most of your investment , and either go in another direction , or get her into a larger bike when the time comes without dumping a lot of money into a short term project ......
