    250x mods

New here... sorry if this has been covered already. I have an 2016 250x and was reading about mods for a little more power and response and every mods has you cutting open the top of the air box which seems a little worrisome. I live in the PNW a lot of rain which water could easily get in. It seems like everyone has done this air box mod... Has anyone had problems with water in filter or motor? Maybe the people that do this mod lives in the desert lol.. any feed back would be great..

    Thanks

The holes that are needed to open up the airbox are above the level of the air filter opening into the carb, so by the time you would drown the motor from your new holes, you would already be pre-drowned from other water access points. I don't know anyone who has had an issue.
Get a 1.5 or 2 inch hole saw, remove the air filter so you don't drill into it when you come punching through, and bore one hole from the top. Get a used 250R cam, jet with a 152 main, and it is a zippy bike.
