What you need to do "if" you can , is measure them side by side , the swingarm itself should be the same size and basically bolt up , but the difference "may" be where the linkage pivot is that hangs down on the bottom , that is usually where any difference would be that would create any issues , as it could throw off the ratio of the shock linkage and how the shock would operate , i know on R models , 02-04 is the same , then 05-09 , though the 08 swingarm length is slightly different , and some race teams used the 08 swingarm on the later model (09-14) bikes to help with handling , so there might be slight differences thru the years , but the only way you will know for sure is to measure them side by side , as slight differences could make a difference in handling for better or worse
