Well, I took the advice of several on here and bought a pair of Asterisk Cell's.
So far I think they will be worth it. They are much more comfortable than I expected. I've yet to ride with them, left knee is still a little wobbly, but I'll report back when they are trail tested.

If they feel a bit stiff the first time out, don't worry they break-in. And if you have issues with your skin chafing under the brace you might try cutting the legs off some old long underwear to wear over the knee area.

I have had a pair of PodMX braces for about 6 months

Best investment ever !! I mean knee braces in general not this paticular brand although they are great !!

Prior to wearing knee braces after a long days ride knees would be a bit tender despite no get off's - must have been minor twists and turns of the ol'dodgy kness while riding

After wearing braces no probs at all !!

I wear the long Fox socks with a bit of surgical elastic type tubing to stop chafing etc ... does get a little warm but after a while you dont notice it

Or you can buy the Asterisk leg socks that are thin and very comfortable. They are made specifically for wearing under the A-Cell braces. Just a thought. Ernie

The under sleeves came with the set I bought....I'm going to try them without the socks the first time and see. I'm afraid the socks will make them too hot!

They cost a lot, but have saved me another knee operation many times. Did it have the strap to the boot? that thing is great, make sure you use it. It stops the foot from corkscrewing. I did not want to drill my boot, but it has not hurt them and has made the brace 100x more stable. I have the cells as well.

good to know, I wasn't going to use the tether because I didn't want to drill my boots. Guess I'll go for it!

The braces are much more comfortable with the socks on. They don't seem to be too hot to wear at all.

I agree with wearing the provided sock, or I even will wear a "thigh" high sock.

After all day... or many many miles of riding, your skin and legs will thank you for the sweat and rub protection.

I've got a set of LARGE in my garage collecting dust. $150 takes them. As you should have them refurbed for $150 from Asterisk. Total cost to you is $300 and they are nearly brand new once all said and done.

Preventive Maintenance is KEY!!!
