Without Moly??

    Without Moly??

    My 07 450x Manual calls for without Moly in the engine side.Any thoughts?

    That would be a 180 degree turn from all other models. Please re-read that and make sure. The "no Moly" is for the tranny side because it can cause clutch slippage.

    As per the owners manual for an '07 450X, suggested oil is Pro Honda GN4, HP4 (without moly additives) 4 stroke oil or an equivalent.

    Interesting. I would like to know why that change came about. Anyone have any data?

    Of course, I don't run Moly anyway. I run Shell Rotella T synthetic in both sides of my 05 X.

    I called Honda USA and they were no help. He said stick with what's in your owners manual. Big help.
