    how dangerous dirtbiking is

    by ship_killer6666 » Tue May 22, 2007 3:14 pm

Yesterday I was going to SRA motocross track with my friend, I have a crf150f, he had a yz85. First time on a track for us, but I had already 40hour experience on my bike

first lap, he's following me, I did a jump but the front of my bike is heavy so I give a little punch of gas and pull on my handle bar, I landed perfect, my friend didn't jump this one, he was behind and watched me. second jump, he was behind me, he pull on his handle bar and give a punch of gas but hey, he had a two-stroke, he fell of the bike, he fell on the rear.

2 thing on is spine is broke, he got to the hospital, he came back today, the two thing (I don't know what the translation in english, but in french it is called "vertèbre") are broke, but he don't need anything, 3 month doing nothing

he don't want to ride a dirtbike ever.

Sure I will do some track again, but this is how much it is dangerous, he didn't even finish his first lap

ps: hope you understand all my message, I tried to write as good as I can.

this is one of those sports you can get hurt real bad real fast. My son wasn't paying attention and hit a culvert that was sticking out of a wash. Fell 10 feet straight down to the bottom. Lucky for him he went feet first. could have been real bad. Look what happen to kountryboy for an example of what can happen. (thoughts go out kountry boy) Just be careful and learn as much as you can.

A good friend of mine was killed while trail ridding this april. He was an excellent ridder with many years experience. He just took a funny skip off a log on the trail that deflected him into a tree. He will be dearly missed. So don't think your too good not to get hurt,it can happen in the blink of an eye.

You may think you have mastered your bike, as you putt it. Usually when people start thinking they have mastered their bike, this is when they get hurt. The time will come when you are thinking that you have mastered your machine (crf 150f) and the machine that you are riding will let you know. Also, please keep in mind it's just not the bike you need to worry about, you need to factor in the terrain. Ensure that you know the terrain you are riding matches your riding experience. 40 hours of ride time on a crf 150f is not allot of ride time. Please don't think I am bashing you, it's just that I am 33 years old and have been riding ever sine I was 7 and I also have some seat time on the MX track. One thing I can promise you is that I will never get the "big head" and think that I have mastered my 450x.
    Thanks,

    Chris
