i found a article online stating lots of inexpinsive ways to sup up your 230 its got about 20 articles(start at one or you will be confused)the link starts at the bottom and go's from page 3 to page 1 in that order order

I used that site like bible for my 230, except the front end. I wasn't touching that. I used BBR springs instead. The bike turned out to be a little hot-rod.

I did most of that stuff to my buddies 230,and it runs super.
The biggest difference and bang for the buck was running the 14 or 15T countershaft sprocket, that ws a HUGE difference.
Now, you can actually use first gear and it'll still climb great, each gear winds out a lot more, just a great idea all around.
If you gear a 230 down you went the wrong way. Furst then is a ridiculously low unuseable gear,and second is as bad as first was stock.
I highly recommend to anyone with a 230 to bolt on 14 if you ride tight stuff, or 15 if you ride in more wide open areas, you won't be sorry. Doug

If you went to a 15 tooth your hills aren't steep enough.
I would use the 15 on fire trails and the like but not on the real gnarly steep stuff.
It is a nice feeling to be able to chud along with all the big boys bikes - it really p1sses them.

Right. It will stil climb hills and it's not like it's helpless on the bottom end with the 15 tooth but you're right, the 14T is a better choice for really severe and tight stuff the 14 tooth is the better choice.
If you don't have really challenging hills and the terrain is more open ,try the 15tooth- then talk about hanging with the big bikes ! It'll sure do the job. The bike will still do wheelies and have plenty on the bottom. Doug

Too bad I bought the two year warranty, otherwise I'd pull this in a snap. Well, I suppose I could just restore it to stock type before taking it in to the dealer.....
Wait, will these mods even work for a 150f?
