And i got my 06 450X in the summer of 05 , only have about half the miles you do , but i do not dual sport mine , its strictly off road , and i have my 02 450R that i ride a lot as well (can't ride both at the same time dang it!) , but the 3500+ miles on my X is mostly all single track , with a few desert rides here and there , its hard to rack up miles when you ride both bikes almost equally

So the land is not "public" or U.S.F.S. land ??

If it does not have a No Trespassing sign here in Idaho , you can pretty much ride it unless it says No Motorized Vehicles , even if you have to go thru a gate to access where your going you can still ride as long as you stay on designated trails and close the gates behind you
