For the second time the cable on mine has gone bad. There is no external damage to it, the magnetic bolt is still in place, wires look good but its not picking up anything. Anyone else had this problem?

The only problem I've had with my lynx is the thing picking up the speed inconsistantly, like 20, 40, 10, 150...etc. Acording to it my max speed has been well over 300MPH!!!!!!! lol

Did you mount your cable in the recommended position? I know some other people that didn't want to drill a hole in the caliper so they came up with some other way of doing it and it didn't work very well.

Nope I did it exactly as the instructions show...I'm really not sure what the exact problem is...I could see a low reading, meaning there is a loose wire or something but high? I dunno....haven't really had time to troubleshoot

Did you use the magnetic rotor bolt or the other magnet? Just curious. Also, have you replaced the computer before? If it's still under warranty maybe you can get a new one... Maybe your wheel distance is not being saved in the memory correctly?

I used the bolt that came with the kit, and no i have not replaced it...only had it a little while. All this talk inspired me to email trailtech to see if they know whats going on

Cool, let me know what they say. I clean my connections with a Qtip and alcohol every once in awhile.

I broke my sensor cable where it connects to the caliper during some maintenance. I called Trail Tech and talked to Jeff, he sent a new one that day. Just waiting for it to get here. Good customer service!

As an update to my original post. Trail tech sent me a new cable and my unit is working again. I have no idea why they are going bad. I guess I’m just one of the lucky ones.

I had simular problems with my unit. Trail Tech says every so often the brake rotor will become magnetized to a degree and will through off the pickup magnet. They told me to hit the rotor with a heat gun to de-magnetize it.....now works fine.
Could you repeat that? In English this time!
