I have started desert racing in district 37 in So. California and have been wondering who else races and where. Actually, for me, a race is more of a trail ride with a few hundred people I don't know all going in one direction. I have alot of fun at it and do rather well since I just ride to finish. So, who else races and where?

yes but lately i just ride the trails and practice tracks. have you raced REM at glen helen? are you racing grandprix or mx races?
i rarely know when i'll have time to ride anymore so it's always last minute toss the bikes in and roll.

So far I have just been doing the desert races. MX scares the daylights out of me. It is not natural to have a bike jump over another. The desert races consist of two 40 mile loops over some nasty terrain. It is a challenge just to ride 80 miles non-stop. A whole lot of fun though.

This Sat. and Sun. in Johnson Valley at the Anderson Lake Bed staging area. It is a two day desert scramble, but, riders can also race just one day. The Checkers ( which is the hosting club ) have a reputation of putting riders through some nasty terrain, so, it should be a lot of fun. Anyone can come and race, but, it is best to be with a club incase if injury or a breakdown. Anyone who wants to give it a try but does not know how it works, let me know and I will explain the process.
