    Am I getting old?

This is a message for all you youngsters out there that may have a legitimate question but are not getting any answers...
Punctuation - is not a situation where you find yourself being punk'd
Capitalization - is not what happened when they were trying to find a place to build the White House
Spell Check - well, we can all spell 'check'... or is it cheque?
I just read three or four posts with little or no response... and now I know why.

Please remember that these are not legal documents.

At least not until they are subpoenaed. :D

I know there is no real rules to follow on these forums...
It's like trying to do a puzzle everytime I read one of these posts. I asked my neighbor's son if he knew what a comma was and I quote 'my friend was in one for about a week after a car wreck'
Maybe I'm just having a bad day...

Well...it appears we have a young'n taking issue.

There's a BIG difference in a critical attack and an observation/recommendation. You, apparently, don't know the difference. Though your post was well written, concise, and thoughtful, I think you missed the point.

In my opinion, I think what Halen meant was since we are a predominantly English speaking/writing country, a person shows their respect for others they are interacting with by using that language correctly. Not only that, written language can reflect a person's intelligence. Using the language correctly is simply a sign of respect for others and respect for one's self. If a person can't write a basic sentence correctly, why would someone waste their time trying to talk/write that person through something technical?

Of course, we all dink up our grammar and spelling here and there. This is understood in today's electronic messaging culture. But, to purposefully chop up the language shows disrespect and ignorance.

By the way...or for you youngsters...BTW, Beast, if you think Halen's post was a critical attack, take yourself over to Thumpertalk and enjoy the e-beatdown you'd get with those guys over there...for nearly ANYTHING you may post. This is one of the friendliest Forum sites I've run across. If you take a look at a lot of the Topics/Threads, I think you'll see that even the word-choppers of our little community here are often helped by other members and treated with general respect.

Chill out little one...one day YOU, too, will be OLD! ;)

    Come on! Are you serious?

With nothing else to judge a person by (on a forum like this) other than the quality of their thoughts and the way they are presented, no victim of criticism can get upset when they write stupid things and then misspell them making it worse. If you normally write well, and make intelligent comments, a spelling error or grammar mistake is accepted as hurried typing or a small oversight. If everything you write is a vandalism of the English language, don't be surprised if people think you are an idiot. JMO. Butt wut the heck doo i no...

Thanks, PG, for the background on Beast. Beast, I'm not picking a fight, just throwing out my opinion. Hope you continue to post!

Thanks for the great laugh Halen! I was having a blue day so I decided to come out here and see what was happening. My oldest son just had left to go back home to Nevada and the house is quiet again. Well as quiet as the other two can be. Anyway, you wrote what I've been thinking for so long. And nedirtbikr, you "interpreted" it very well. Thanks again.
