Any one know what the nitrogen pressure should be for the rear shock on a '06 450R?

I don't know, but how do you plan to check it or charge it? That usually is a dealer only thing.

I just changed the oil in it. I have a nitrogen tank to charge it. I just don't know what the pressure should be. I'm guessing around 150 psi, but just thought I'd ask around to make sure.

PM Nowazzu.

He's the only guy on here smart enough to do his own suspension work.

My instructions that came with my Race Tech Gold Valve said 175 psi. Of course, they know my weight and such, and I ride a 450X. Check this product out, it is pretty sweet! Stickers galore!!

...and you would have HATED the drive from Red Bluff to Salem!!! (All except lunch with hkepuk... there is a great restaurant in Medford that has the best pizza..!! :D :D ).

It looks like that Cal City ride would have been awesome!!

I was able to average quite the speed (For a minivan  ) through NorCal (80+), but things go a bit slower in Oregon! All in all, My family and I put in over 2,000 miles in just over a week. Fortunately for me, about 40 of those were on your 450X!!! It is all that kept me sane! I am back now, and it is 37 degrees outside, the streets were all white with ice this morning, but the sun is trying to come out...!

I am getting anxious to try my hand at suspension revalving!! hkepuk and I will do a grease party when I do the shock, but I may have to fly solo on the forks. I bought all of the tools necessary for the job. I should have been a bit more frugal, but I want to do it right, and I want to be able to help with other buddy's bikes if need be. I logged on to Race Tech's site, put in my code for the shock valve, and it spit out all of the information I need to do a proper job. Good stuff!! My fork valves are not in the database yet, but I will just call them for those settings. I will have the camera handy for this process!!

I'm glad the trip home was safe.

Pizza??? Brad didn't say anything about the best Pizza!

Puk, you holdin' out on us???

I expect to see a complete how-to on the forks soon.

Maybe you will need another road trip to help a buddy (me) with his suspension.

The wife just might buy that..."but Honey, a friend in need..."

AS -

Not holdin' out, but all in good time, my friend. The first words out of XGiant's mouth as he bit into his first slice were, "We HAVE to bring the gang here in July!"

(For the record, I'll gladly trade a slice of Redrock Raphael for a Taco Tia burrito. About the only thing I miss about So Cal is eating at some of my favorite restaurants.)

I think a quick trip up to Portland on a Southwest econo ticket to "help out a couple of friends in need" could work on the suspension. Ship up the forks or pack them in a gun case, wear flannel and have a BMW key chain, and you'll certainly look like an Oregonian (Berkinstocks optional).
