beg to differ DC I am not over weight nor am I out of shape I rode without my Kidney belt not so long ago due to leaving it in the garage after washing. I felt the difference. When I was much younger I could ride hard all day without it and never notice but I can tell you I will not go without it any more I was miserable. About mid day my Lower back and abdomen where aching. not real bad but enough to cause an annoyance. That annoyance could cause you to displace you concentration from the trail to your body. That can only mean the likelihood of your body meeting the terrafirma

It was a not so funny joke. While very cool looking the garage is kind of low and sloping. That's it really. Like I said not so funny. :)

I haven't ever worn one, but I think I could benefit from one. I kind of feel it at the end of the day. I see a lot of people wearing them, so I would think it's probably a good idea.

I wear one and I'm not overweight. 6'2" and 180lbs. I like having the protection. back, chest, elbows, shoulders, and forearms.

BTW, I wear mine outside my Jersey in the summer. It vents better and lets the jersey wick the moisture off your body to evaporate better. Also prevents any chafing. If you wear it inside your jersey, you might try to get a tee that wicks moisture as your first layer.

I wear a wicking style of T-shirt that I get from Target, then my body armor, and my jersey on the outside. I don't ride without the body armor. It's great.

No offense taken, just didn't get it. This isn't a garage. It is a seperate little shop just for my bikes ... tuff shed type structure.

Thanks Kevin. This is the second house I have had one of these built at. They work out great, are relatively inexpensive, go up fast and allow me to use my garage for cars :)

We don't have a garage it is referred to as a toy box. no old clothes furniture or 4 wheelers allowed(over500cc).

Working my way back to the subject. :) I had the great idea of riding my bike along the train tracts about 40 miles to where my girl works last night. Well after about 4 miles the sides of the tracks were so over grown I had to ride the middle of the tracks. Thinking this was going to be an easy task and not wanting to look like robocop when I got there I didn't wear my Flack jacket. Needless to say I only made about 3 miles on the tracks and turned back. My back and internal stuff were beat to death. Note to self "don't ride without kidney belt AND don't ride on train tracks for long distance" I had to find out if I could make it. lol
