Matt the Machinist, don't forget that many Latinos and illegal immigrants are serving this Country right now as they did during Vietnam. In fact, a Mexican national and San Diego resident was recently granted citizenship after dying at war while fighting for our country.

Uniped, I invite to visit the Imperial Valley so you may witness the work Mexicans are doing in this part of the Country. As you mentioned, these people are taking jobs other people are not willing to take, but I disagree with your comment about them receiving financial assistance. No one is getting handouts down here. These workers are crossing the border at 3am to work the fields all day and then return to their homes in Mexicali.

They are also taking jobs most americans will do; constuction, restuarant business, maid services ect.. Field work yes, we need to put the prisoners in the fields to their work.

I agree with you as well, as far as getting our own to work. But, our gov't has already proven that they cannot or will not enforce the current rules, so why should we believe that they will enforce new rules. That is why the gov't wants to draw a line and give amnesty to all those that came before and start over. Why can we go all over the world and tell countries and people (people that have been killing each other longer than we have been a country) that they are messed up and they need to fix themselves, but we can't even deal with Mexico???

Well, that is a little harsh. I don't think that we go all over the place and kill people. I think that our true intentions are to help, feed, and protect the needy. I just think that we should get it down pat at home before we go off and show boat all over the place.

I fear a small piece of my statement was misunderstood. With regards to the people who should receive less and less financial help until the demeaning job looks more appealing, those people who I speak about are the citizens of the U.S. who are absorbing a ridiculous amount of tax dollars because they won't work for those bleeding hearts I do not include those who actually can,t work although that should be further scrutinized in my opinion.
Instigator I thought I was on the same pages as you but I apparently did not make myself clear. so I will now I agree with your statement.

Bviller, I would have to say you touched on my biggest problem with Illegals. I do Tile And see first hand what is happening With our trades not to say all mexicans do bad work some do though, But when the pull a large crew together under bid a licensed skilled contractor and frequently do not stand behind their work I makes me feel like I should quit paying taxes and not carry liability ins. so I can compete and at least give the consumer a good job for the money.

The way I see it as long as its easier for the mexican poeple to come over here and take over our country they will never have or need the guts to take over their own. Eventually the US will be brought down to what Mexico is. I can sympathize with them, heck I don't like doing things the hard way either.
