I'm guessing that a Mt Hood ride is out of the question this weekend?
What in the Hell were those three "experienced climbers" thinking (smokin') when they decided that Dec would be a good time to go climb MT Hood?

That is most unfortunate! This will be the second disaster of this kind in just a few weeks. A California family lost their father when their vehicle got stuck. He went for help and died from exposure. He was a senior editor at C-Net.com, where I read reviews on electronics products. Mt. Hood has about 8 feet of snow, and can easily get a foot in one night. We had 1.5 inches of rain the other day, some of the coastal towns had up to 7 inches of rain in a 24 hour period... that would be a lot of snow in the mountains!! I have never understood the allure of purposely hiking off in the snow!

Back when I was invincible, I was driving from Bakersfield to Fresno in the Tule fog. I was in the fast lane (learned later that is unwise) and going 55mph. All of a sudden I hit the biggest damn tumbleweed! Center punched it and scared the crap out of myself. I never saw it at all until I hit it.

That was my lesson and I never have forgotten it. Thank God it wasn't a car or a semi!

I looked at a house right off the Rosedale Hwy about 10 years ago....Glad I didn't buy it, that place is a pit. No offense to those who live there. The house was great though, almost 3000sq. ft. on a half acre lot. If I remember right it was about 180k.

I don't, Rosedale sucks. still, that place is probably 800k right now, and falling. complete standstill here now. dwindling buyers are still just a few straglers from LA Basin, and lower Bay Area.

when i was a kid, my Grandpa would take me. i did enjoy watching the Formula boats. i'm 47, so that means those Formula boats have been around 40 years, man, thats amazing. Good times with Grandpa. the drag racing has always bored me, any type of drags. Ming was famous for quite a stretch, because every year they'd kill a drag racer. that is the most unsafe lake for drags, period.

Keep thinking like that and pass that word along. This damn town is too big already! :)
