crf230 vs. raptor 350

I raced a raptor 350 and we came out even top end not bad. I've raced 400ex... smoked um... predator not so much
but i will never race a yfz450 or a trx for that matter

rev box and fmf powercore it was about the same as a 400ex

what dose the rev box do to the speed...anything??

You wont notice any thing unless you have a highly modified motor unlike myself.
Rev box? quite a bit

Rev boxes are mounted on most bikes stock, it is a govnenor for your engine speed. The stock rev box doesnt' let your engine run fast than 9800rpms in any gear. An aftermarket replacement rev box lets you break the limit to accelerate faster and achieve a greater top speed by a couple mph.

My friend has an '05 350 Raptor and I can beat him but my bike is topped out.

im suprised you came out even against a 350raptor
my buddy has an 06 350raptor and no matter wich rider is on either bike my 230 smokes that bike by the time i shift into 5th i usually have 5 lengths on it and after that he starts closing the gap but he normally only gets a lenght closer by the time we top out
i have raced a 400ex in a trail so we only raced from 1st-to 3rd gear but it was pretty even i only edged out the win by a half of a bike lenght
