Do not have a 2020 but:
Did you happen to fall on the shifter side ???? , it is possible you bent a shift fork if it was jammed in any way .... that would be my first guess regardless of year , I have not heard of any shifting issues with the R specifically , I know they had a recall for the 250L's in 2019 for the tranny mainshaft , but the R's I have mainly heard about just the normal clutch complaints ..........
What does it do as you go thru the gears , is it every gear ?? , or just 1st to 2nd ?? , have you noticed any serious shavings in the filter or oil ?? , I know it is low hours , but lay the bike on the left side (use you bike stand/lift as a prop for the bars/grip to rest on) and remove the clutch cover , then operate the clutch , make sure the plates are not binding , and also remove all the plates to make sure you do not have a broken plate , as I know that has happened in the newer models ......
That is where I would start .... but my first guess would be the shifter got jammed and bent a shift fork .... I have ridden 19 450's and they shift like butter , way smoother than my 02 450 , so I can't see it just going bad without some input from a outside source like a impact of some sort........
