Had to change the shifter so took the entire bike apart. Got it all back together and it won’t kick over. Checked compression, spark plugs, valves, fuel intake, basically everything I can think of. Honda is also stumped. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the site !! \:D/

You have me a little confused here .... You said you had to change the shifter ..... Why would you need to take the bike apart to change the shifter ??? , its 1 bolt and it slides off :-k 8-[

Are you meaning you had to take the Shift Drum , or shift shaft , or shift fork out in the transmission ???? , that would make more sense

As for your issue , I would suspect you have inadvertently missed plugging in a connector somewhere ..... it is highly possible when you removed the gas tank , you accidentally pulled off the power wire that goes to the coil with the fuel valve when pulling the tank out , , with the tank off look and see if its unplugged , I think that will be your problem ... ;)
