CRF250 07 Cam chain or tentioner or auto decompresor???

Hello everyone. I'm having trouble with my CRF250.
I don't know which one might cause the problem..
I compared the cam chain i have with the new oem and they look so similar that even when i took it too mechanic he said it not streched out at all.

there is that bad sound when i drop the idle. Mechanic told that it was the decompresion thingy on the cam. But it even makes noise when I put the bike in gear and let the clutch of slowly and when the bike drops rpms to very low it does the same sound. (No problem when normal idle)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoQy5oX7PVM there is the tentioner, is that a normal memal thing stering out of him?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hqhCzTimmo And there is a bad linemant on cams. The motor is in TDC, mark on fly wheel and crank is lined, but cams is not. Can the chain be the problem?

First off the decompressor thingy uses centrifugal force to get out of the way, idle May be too low. Second, if your cam chain were off that bad I don't think it would start. I couldn't understand your other questions, sorry.

Your videos say they are private. My 04 250 is making an odd noise at idle when it's hot and in gear. A rattle like a chain. Suspecting clutch issues. The bike will even stall out if it's in gear after riding for a while and stopping.

That sounds kinda like a notched basket.

Yeah, I pulled the clutch and found that the previous owner installed a Hinson basket. There are some slight notches that I'm going to file smooth. I also ordered a replacement clutch kit. The thing that I found most alarming was the in and out "rock" or play in the basket (pushing the ears at opposite sides allows it to deflect). I ordered the roller bearing and collar. Also found a lot of excess play in the kick start middle gear. Ordered the bushing for that as well. The parts were cheap enough, so I figured better safe than sorry.

I think you have found your problem. That bearing does not typically go bad. If there is a replacement basket in there I'd pull it and make sure that it was assembled correctly. If the rivets were not done correctly or have worked loose you will need to correct that before you can ride again. You have it open... check it all it will only cost you time right now!

Good idea. This Hinson basket has small allen head screws. I'll make sure they are all tight. Another question I had was about the rubber pads I keep seeing on line that go on the back of the baskets. This one in my bike has none. I'm assuming it was meant to be that way? Any insight on that would be greatly appreciated. This is my first time even looking at a clutch. Thanks!

i didn't have time to read the entire thread history so my apologies if i'm missing something. if you have a hinson basket you need the rubber cushions. if they are not there you need to get them before using this basket any further. use blue (medium) loc-tite on the screws for the plate.

Hey Im new on the site and have a question about my 2008 450r. Looks like you can't start new post on this site and wonder who does and how they do? Anyway I've rebuilt a hand full of CRF and yamaha motors. I've only had this issue I'm having with my 2008 R. So its got well over 1000 hours and last fall I did another piston set an a new timing chain, guide and tensioner. ( of course I did Kibblewhite valve kit a while back) I compared the old chain to the new one and it had stretched out some. One of the issues I was having was the tensioner was maxed out and not giving full tension. With all the new stuff I expected tensioner to be able to get tight again with lots of room to have a little chain stretch but thats not the case. It was almost maxed out again and now that I've ridden it about 100 hours I'm back to no more auto adjustment in the tct and I'm getting chain slap. I have a 2008 450X an a 2009 450R. My 2008 450R is my woods bike and go to ride. Both other bikes when you slip the tct back into the head before screwing tensioner release back off the screw can't event be put in. The one with the issue I can slip flush to the gasket.
