I found this between my stator and flywheel, its cut a groove out of both on them.

I have replacement parts but before I put the bike back together I'd like to know where this thing came from ?

Thanks

That looks like it belongs to a wiring harness. Just a guess.
What bike did it come from?

2005 crf250r.
Yes it looks like it should be holding something .
I figured I'd ask more knowledge people

Looks like part of a bearing cage to me I would investigate that more.

It was piece of the camshaft bearing on the right side.
It must have broke off and traveled down the timing change space.
I think I have found any pieces but is there a way a piece could get from the head into the right crank case?

Thanks

check the back of the flywheel and in the left side case cover. if pieces end up in your cam chain it will be a bad bad day for you.

the piece I found had already made its way in between the flywheel and stator. Chewed up the stator pretty badly as I discovered when I removed the left cover. I drained the oil from that side and cleaned out any remaining oil. I plan on putting a new oil filter and some cheaper oil in and run it for a while and then drain it again. to make sure I got everything.

But I haven't removed the right crankcase cover as I don't see how any pieces would make there way in there. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

thanks
