I have a 2008 crf 250 its hard to get in to 2nd gear hits neutral and when it does go in to gear it crunches in also noticed when the bike is running but stationary and you put it from neutral in to 2nd it makes a crunching knocking noise once the gear is enguaged its fine. Any one got any experience off this or any advise ive tried changing oil etc but still the same.

It also has locked in 2nd gear before when stationary could a bent shift fork cause that?

Yes. Or anything in that area. There are multiple pieces moving and sliding around when you shift. Likely a bent fork, but could be broken/worn shift barrel or even something in the gearset.

Time to split the cases...

Yes , at this point you pretty much have no option but to tear it down , and start looking for what is damaged , its not something that will just go away , or be ridden out , without a tear down !
