    REKLUSE AND HEAVY FLYWHEEL

    by Crf1828 » Sun Mar 24, 2013 8:49 am

    Hey Guys
About one year ago I bought a 07 crf250r to race hare scrambles on. When I bought this bike It was set up for flat track, it had a lowered suspension and a heavy flywheel as an attempt for the previous rider to the bike down. I got the suspension redone, however i still am not sure about the heavy flywheel. Over the summer I bought a Rekluse clutch and put that in the bike. I have the stock flywheel just siting around, and i was thinking about putting the stock one back. I have had no problems with the bike with the heavy flywheel. I just wanted to see if i could get a little bit more responsiveness right when i get on the gas. If anyone had ever delt with something like this I would greatly appreciate to hear what you have done.

    Thanks

welcome to CRF's Only. there are two reasons to install a heavy flywheel. one is to reduce the likelihood of stalling at lower RPMs. second is to slow how quickly the motor revs. with the Rekluse stalling is not an issue. so, the only reason to keep the flywheel is if you want it to rev more slowly. sounds like this is not what you want so i would suggest you replace it with the stock flywheel.

    again, welcome.
