    First, welcome.

Second, punctuation is appreciated. Forming complete sentences and taking the time to intelligently type your thoughts will be received with greater respect.

Third, 2004 250R's ran fine. They were prone to valve related issues, but assuming the bike already got a stainless valvetrain swap, you'll be fine for awhile. Maintenance is important with any modern racebike. Air filter and oil changes are mandatory. The days of changing the oil once a season is long gone. Keep the air filter clean/oiled and the effort will be rewarded. What kind of deal are you looking at? Maybe we can help.

I have one and I love mine, its a great bike. Just don't go too radical on the head, check the valves often and you'll be good.

I did a exhaust, cam and some carb mods. My friends think I did motor work it runs so good. Plus it hauls my 200lb fat rear around and goes like a rocket.
If you can't ride good, then look good riding

    In the morning, we ride.

i love my crf,the only other bike i might be tempted to swap it with is the ktm sx250f as they just look plain awesome.

the Honda crf's are the way to go i would definatly recommend one

as for maintenance, well i got the bike last year around this time, the only real maintenance i done was, oil + filter change every 2 rides. transmission oil every 6 rides. air filter every ride. oil the chain. thats really it, i only had the valves check once and shimmed by my dealer mainly cause i liked to sit on the rev limiter(i hated coming from a 2 stroke)

but since the winter for some reason nearly every time i ride the bike is stripped, wheels, shock, swing arms, checking everything is lubed, and is in checked, and bolts are tight, no leaks etc. depend on your skills or how much you really want to do, bar minimum or go over the top.
