    250R Triple Clamp Offset

    I am looking to purchase a triple clamp set with a steering stabilizer and was wondering if I should change the offset and is so what to.
    CRF250R
    6'3" 240 lbs. 51 yrs. young trail and woods riding with
    some open area and river riding, very little track time.
    Would appreciate any input.

    i believe mx bones makes a kit to use the stock 08 steering dampener it comes with drill and tap. its pretty easy to install. just finished it on my buddys 06 and made a big difference and much lighter than going to an after market one that clamps on the tripples

    All the reviews I've read say that bike turns beautifully as delivered Kim.
    There are some gorgeous aftermarket triple clamps available if you're so inclined, but no way would I change the offset on a 250R. I've had BRP's and Applieds and loved them both.
    MXA loved the 250R and 450R with a Scotts steering stabilizer way better than with the stock 08 one. The Scotts remains the best stabilizer money can buy.
    For trail riding a motocrosser a Rekluse clutch and a Scotts stabilizer, once you've ridden with them, are two things you'll never be without once you experience them.
    Get that bike sprung for your weight and you'll be very pleased with how it turns. Doug

    kim...one of the reasons to get an aftermarket triple clamp is for the increased control they offer by keeping the forks parallel under rough conditions. if the triple flexes and gives it causes the front tire to wander. you'd be amazed at the additional control stiffer triples provide. offset changes will change the rake and hence how the bike turns. if you feel like the bike is pushing in corners than reducing the offset will help fix that. with a stabilizer it will help maintain straight line stability.

    we've had excellent results with both the Applied Racing and BRP triple clamps and SUB mount stabilizer kits. if you need links to these in our catalog let me know.
