kim...one of the reasons to get an aftermarket triple clamp is for the increased control they offer by keeping the forks parallel under rough conditions. if the triple flexes and gives it causes the front tire to wander. you'd be amazed at the additional control stiffer triples provide. offset changes will change the rake and hence how the bike turns. if you feel like the bike is pushing in corners than reducing the offset will help fix that. with a stabilizer it will help maintain straight line stability.
