.... MY RADIATOR FLUID , any advise greatly apriated .......

    by DOM1235 » Wed Jan 16, 2008 2:39 pm

ryt guys, i was checking over my bike in the garage yestesterday and i went to check the level of fluid in my radiators and i found that it was like 100 to 200 ml down, i've now topped it up and left it, but i just thought, why has it lost so much, i did have the bike ticking over for like 4 mins the day before and also around another 3 mins the day before that,as i was changing the oil, So i was thinking could some have boiled away, but not sure.

i got my crf about 2 months ago now, I rode it for some long rides last week and on two occasions i came off and the bike was left on its side for a short time, so maybe the fluid could have come out of the overflow at the top of the rad, but am not sure if it can do that when the cap is on.

i know that when i first got the bike, the level of fluid was at the top and that after i rode the bike the very first time, for about 3 hours, the level had not dropped,

Any help or advise on what could be the problem, or if there isn't one, would be appreciated.

    .
    You can be sure.
3-4 minutes is way too long for no cooling air going through the radiators for these bikes, so that's where your coolant went.
Just idle it around next time. Doug

While several minutes with these bikes is too long, these work very well on R's :
