    250 Valve job

    Have an 04 250 that i have had to reshim constantly.think i've done it about 8 times so far and we only ride from oct to may so not that much. bike just won't start until i reshim, then it fires right up. let it sit for a month and won't start. any help or just pull the head and redo the valves?

    You know the answer to that already. What size shims are you down to?

    lost track after the forth or fifth time...also own a 05 250x and have never had an issue yet

    Just because we are on the topic.....what appox. will a valve job cost for these bikes?

    Typical walk-in service shop should be no more than $140-150. If you can find a better deal with someone reputable, then go for it. Beware though, it takes experience to inspect everything and perform the work correctly.
