Is it ok to remove the countershaft cover?

Yes, but you should replace with a case saver incase the chain comes off.

Especially if he rides a lot of off-road trail trash easily gets stuck in there.
Also, the bike looks cooler with it off.

I got that new BBR guard and love it, but I'm a slave to bling.

Because this time of year, the tracks are SUPER muddy, and when I get home, it's a lot easier to clean, and it looks cool.

i believe everyone should take the cheapo plastic guard off. there should already be a case saver behind the plastic piece, so take it off and put shorter bolts in there and you're set
