Do you have continuity from the secondary coil winding to the sparkplug? Without the sparkplug, what is the resistance of the secondary winding with the wire connected to the sparkplug cap?

    Check for loose connections.
Have you replaced the plug with a BRAND new one?

?? What do you mean weird?
What kind of meter are you using?

    That's hilarious...

You may want to borrow one that is of a little better quality. So what is weird about your results? What did you measure?

Ok, ok...let's take a step back.
There are 2 windings in a motorcycle ignition coil. Primary and secondary. The primary side of the coil has many times less "windings" of copper wire than the secondary side. Your primary side has the little wire and the secondary side has the sparkplug wire/cap or alternately called the "high tension lead". They both use a chassis ground to work correctly. That means the metal part of the coil itself is bolted to the frame of the motorcycle. This is what completes the electrical circuit for both the primary side and secondary side of the coil.

So when you measure the primary and secondary sides of the coil, you apply the positive lead of your tester to the end of the wire and the negative lead of the tester to the metal part of the coil WHEN ITS BOLTED ON THE BIKE.

There is a specific tester that measures peak voltage.
Or you can use a properly equipped oscilloscope.
