Removing Radiator Hoses?

Ok. So I bent up my right-side radiator a couple of weeks ago and just bought a new OEM radiator this week. I went to install the radiator today and ran into an unexpected problem: the radiator hoses. The hoses were IMPOSSIBLE to get off. I'm a fairly strong kid and I couldn't get them to budge! After getting pretty pissed off altogether, I decided to come post on here to figure out if there are any special "tricks" or "tips" to removing the radiator hoses easily. Can you heat the hoses with a hair dryer or something to soften them up? Thanks!

I use a small flat blade screwdriver and CAREFULLY slide it up between the hose and the metal, then twist back and forth while pulling.

I use a "thing" I found in an art supply store.
I think its used to mix oil paints??
Anyhow its a wood handle with a thin 1/2 inch metal blade. Metal is flexible and rounded.
Kinda looks like a .015 feeler gage with a handle
It bends easily so it conforms to rad tube shape.
Works great!
