I switched to the Maxima Oils awhile back. I think their quality and performance properties are second to none.

Their prices are also second to none.

Does my bike need it?? Probably not.

Can I afford to put the best in my $ 7000 bike? You bet.

Maxima Extra full syn (red label) 10W-40.
Maxima MTL 85W in the transmission.

As far as gas is concerned, 91-92 Octane is more than sufficent for a 12:1 compression engine.

Higher octane fuels when no preignition is present is only wasting money and actually performance.

Racing fuels aren't necessarily higher Octane, most are Oxygenated fuels which pack more BTU's per liter.

I have yet to mess with Racing fuels and don't think I ever will.

Nminus1 uses a 50/50 blend of 91-92 and AV Gas. He loves the performance boost and the cooler running temps. PM him for more info.

    pump gas and Honda oil

Premium pump gas should have enough octane for stock engines at sea level. Above 5,000 feet your stock engine cannot develop more than about 75% of its sea level rated power. Therefore, you will not get detonation with even Regular pump gas. Next time you're in Denver notice that most gas stations don't even sell 91 octane pump gas.

Yamalube and Honda oils are some of the best oils available. You will not go wrong to continue using the manufacturer's oil. I would not change oils unless you can find some really good reason to change (ie. availablity, price, etc.).
