I just got my bike back together and had the first ride today since installing the faction mx intake valve kit, that includes two intake valves and two springs, retainers and keepers and I had the valve seats cut. I know the kibblewhites are more popular and may be better I dont know. I didnt want to buy the expensive kibblewhite spring kit $200+. I just wanted to install two new stainless steel intake valves and springs and I put in new honda exh valves and springs. I think most guys install all four kw valves and springs. My bike is a 250X

TDW - I had an '05 CRF250R and, like you, I skipped the KW springs and reused the stock valve springs with new stainless steel KW intake valves. After just a few hours one of the intake valves dropped. After some post-damage research I learned that Kibblewhite recommends against using the stock springs with their valves. And it makes sense to me now. Their SS valves are heavier than the stock Ti valves. The mechanic that installed these valves said that he had never had this problem in about 15 previous installations but when you talk to KW they are pretty adamant about the incompatibility.

it includes everything needed but i will still have my head ported, polished and valve seats cut

FBR, I guess it was alittle confusing the way I explained it. When I redid the top end in my bike I put in the faction mx SS intake valve kit that includes two SS intake valves and the correct springs for these new SS valves, it also includes new spring retainers and keepers. I didnt even think of trying to use stock honda valve springs with the new SS valves. The main reason I went with the faction mx SS intake valve kit was because I didnt want to spend the extra $ for KW exh valves and springs, I wanted to use new honda exh valves and springs because with these longevity hasnt been an issue. I had the seats cut also, and now that its done and I have ridden a couple of times, approx 120 miles everything seems good.

The Faction MX is certainly a much better price than Kibblewhite and they cater to their customers better by selling a kit with just intakes instead of having to buy all springs. Kibblewhite you listening???

I just did my 450 with the faction intakes, i just put it on today and haven`t ridden it yet.

I sent my head to Dave at mxtime.com, and he clean the head, cut the seats, and put in the faction intake kit for $225. He would have shimed it to if i had sent him the cam.

The only thing that was strange is that i had to use such large shims to get it to spec, 1.95 and 2.15, they were about 1.80 stock, but that means i`ll have a lot of adjustments if thay start to go.

after the valve seats were cut and I installed the new valves, all the valve shims I installed were slightly smaller than original to get the proper clearance. Havent checked again since but probably should soon.
