    rekluse engagement

    by confusedtech » Sat Jun 30, 2007 6:12 pm

    Hello All,
I installed a rekluse on my sons 04crf250r with a perch adjuster. haven't got the cableslack right yet.I have the clutch pack(new plates) at .035 and alot of slack in the cable. The clutch engages almost immediatly off idle(drags a little but doesn't stall) anyway it seems too slip at higher rpms, maybe I'm not used too it. Does it sound like it slips at higher rpms on everybodys? do you let off throttle between gear changes? I was expecting from half throttle to spin the rear tire or pull wheelies but it just sounds like it revs(doesn't freerev). What would installing some tungsen balls do for it?
    thanks confusedtech

I bought this used and did not know the balls were different until now. I will reassemble it again later to see if that is the problem.

Ok after reading the how to article it mentioned 10 tungsten balls with 30 steel. I disassembled the clutch and checked the balls with a very strong magnet and all balls are steel. I dont guess that was the problem. I checked the clutch cable for drag and it is ok. I looked at the clutch basket and hub there are some grooves but not what I would call excessive,do they have to be perfect for the rekluse to work? I tightened the clutch pack alittle more to try that after it quits raining.
    thanks confusedtech
