I don't know if you already bought a bike or not? But the 06 has the best head of all of them, if you go with the 04 you want the stainless and not the titanium..

    whoa, this is almost weird. i'm 15, about 5' 7", 135lb, and i'm looking for a 2005 CRF250R...cool.

anyway, i've read and heard that the 04's had cylinder problems, cracking. you can get and 05 jug and put on it, you'll just have to grind a 3/8in relief for clearance of the oil jet. the 05 and later have a better skirt design.

as far as heads, unless u got a stock 02 CRF450R head, the CRF unicam heads are basically the same. check clearnaces every...however many hours reccomended, keep the air filter cleaned & oiled, and the oil & filter clean, and change them often.

also, if you intend on buying one, or already own one, i reccomend this book to anyone with a Unicam CRF.

    MOTORSPORTS WORKSHOP
    Honda CRF Performance Handbook
    written by Eric Gorr

this site, along with that book will help you with anything related to the CRF.

    good luck with your bike
