I ordered the Applied Racing vent kit. I read that Honda had redesigned the crankcase venting for 2007 (my year) in an attempt to develop more power. I'm wondering what they could have done and if diverting the vent from the airbox to the outside with the Applied vent kit will have any effect on what Honda was trying to do with the power.
I'm not familiar with what the Applied kit does or doesn't do. Regardless, I'm always a bit skeptical in what the OE's advertise as "improvements". Every year they have to create a list of "improvements" over last years model to make it desireable. Making a crankcase vent change to help improve power starts to ring that little bell in my head that says it's "filler" for the list.
Crankcase vents are all about pressure inside the case being able to escape. Not necessarily considering what's on the other end...(as long as it's less pressure than what's in the case) I believe the only reason it's routed to your airbox is because if the pressure ever goes negative relative to the case, then it's pulling from the airbox, which is considered a relatively "Clean Zone"...
My opinion is there are so many more variables that make bigger differences that any change that may occur, is negligible. Those BNG's are good for an extra 1/2 Hp too ya know....
