2000 CR250R cylender problem...Need help!

Check it out guys…….So I got this 2000 CR250R and I sent my cylinder to millennium technologies as a core and I got back a re-machined cylinder. When I opened the box and I looked at the fresh looking bead blasted beauty I noticed that the intake port looked slightly different from the cylinder I sent out. The new cylinder has an area that seems to have been machined out just above the intake port. I cannot remember if this is the way the cylinder is stock or if maybe this one has been machined out or what! I would post a pic but I don’t know how to do so on this site…………….So does anyone know if this is the way it is supposed to be? Is the port supposed to be just an oval port? Or is there ½” by 1” tall Slopes cut out above the port to allow fuel to enter the chamber before the piston reaches the oval?

Yeah sorry. I had to send that one back it had some damage to the exhaust port. The intake port was normal though.

Did they take care of you? I use Mil-tech exclusively for my cylinder work and I'm curious how they handle other peoples stuff.

Yeah they did. The cylinder was grooved out where the expansion chamber seals and so I was afraid that I would have an exhaust leak. The cylinder I sent in didn’t have this problem. So at first the guy I spoke with tried to convince me that it was a normal wear issue. All I had to say was that the cylinder I sent was not like that and I wanted my core back. About two weeks later my original cylinder showed up in reconditioned shape and ready to go. So other that that minor set back I would say it went well.

How do they treat you at Mil-tech?

I have a "dealer" acct with them. They've been very responsive and the only issue I had was similiar to yours. They sent my brother's cylinder to Nebraska or something like that. Lol.
After 2 weeks we were asking "where's my jug?"
They responded we sent it you last week at address "...."
"Um...we live in MI."
Mil-Tech - "Oh...um...we'll call you back in 5 minutes."

It was resolved within 3 days, but besides that all has been good. They do very good work imo.
