    Help please with a CRF70

    by robbrown1957 » Thu Aug 08, 2019 7:46 am

Hi everyone. Hope someone can assist. Bought a well used and in need of serious TLC CRF70f. After a lot of tidying up and adjusting, I got it running however occasionally the fuel leaked out of the carb overflow.

I have stripped and cleaned the carb a few times however cannot stop the leak. I think it could be the needle that is operated by the carb float assembly. I have had the needle out and cleaned off some grime that was stuck to it and cleaned the whole assembly with brake cleaner fluid however the problem persists. I noticed on the needle shaft that there were 3 raised splines for want of a better word though could not spot 3 grooves in the pot that shaft sat in for them to possibly locate into. Should these 3 shaft splines line up with 3 pot grooves and is that why my carb is overfilling do you think. Any tips greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks
