    Advice on 08 250X

    by Henry1223 » Thu Mar 01, 2018 5:25 pm

I recently bought a 2008 250x, I bought the service Manual and owners Manual, so I have tons of information. This is my first bike, and wanted to know some good overall upgrades for trail related performance, also it being 4 stroke, should I be adding anything to the fuel? Or using higher grade gas or anything to increase longevity on the motor? I’m not looking to get more power right now, I’m still learning, but wouldn’t mind upgrading some stuff for looks, handling, and to prevent damage from weak stock points on the bike.

Hi Henry and welcome to the site.
The first thing I would do performance wise is consult your manuals and confirm that your sag(how far suspension compresses), is right for your riding weight.

Having the suspension set for you makes a big difference in riding performance.
It will indicate if you have the right springs installed, which affects where your valving sits in relation to travel in your forks and shock.
I am sure others will chime in for further advice.

It starts,it runs,it gets to where all CRFs can get to without the valve or valve plate dramas

    Suggestions:
Good quality skid / sump plate.
    Radiator guard / braces.
    Hand guards, full wrap type.
Rejet to take care of lean from the factory setting.
    Adjustable pilot / fuel screw.

    Ride and have fun.
