Selecting the best final drive gearing (front and rear sprocket sizes) for your riding needs can be difficult. The question of "What is the best sprocket sizes for my CRF?" are common and difficult to answer. In fact, I stopped making sprocket recommendations shortly after I made one to a customer named Goldilocks. ;)

Check out our gearing calculator to help answer your sprocket what-if questions.

How-to use the Gearing Calculator

The first thing you need to do is select your CRF model, verify your current final drive gearing and rear tire size. You'll then need to enter your comparison final drive gearing.

#1 Select your CRF model by using this pull down menu. Once selected click the "Load" button. The calculator will load the gearing information for the selected CRF model. Verify the final drive information for you bike is correct. You should also verify the rear tire size is correct. If you think in KPH make sure you select the KPH radio button.

#2 Enter the final drive you want to compare to what you currently have. The calculator will automatically update the view and provide comparison data.

This table shows speed and RPM data for each gear. Fields without results is a result of data not being provided necessary to perform the calculations.

#3 Shows the stock (current) final drive gearing speed and RPM data.
#4 Shows the comparison final drive gearing speed and RPM data.
#5 Shows the change between the stock and comparison final drive gearing.

This table shows the RPM's reached for a specific speed at the interval listed by the pull-down menu. For example, in 1st gear, the stock (current) final drive gearing the engine would reach 7,444 RPM's. The comparison final drive gearing would be 6,912 RPM's for a reduction of 532 RPM's. This shows the results up to the maximum RPM's defined (see the first screenshot above).
