No one mentioned safty wiring the grips. I'm about to change a few sets of grips and planned to use Renthal grip glue, air and safety wire.

Though spray paint and safety wire is starting to sound like a good option.

Be careful using spray paint. The grips I put on stated specifically on the packaging do not use spray paint. I ignored that tidbit. Well.... the paint attacked the grip material and when I slid them on, the end of the grip blew off. Grip glue and safety wire for me from here on out.

I`ve always used hair spray, but i think i`ll try the brake cleaner next time.

Do you just coat the bars and inside of the grips with the brake cleaner and the rubber melts to the bar?

As with any tip used here, the bar MUST be clean. Just spray the inside of the grip with Brakeclean and swirl it around for a second. Then install. Careful not to push too hard, depending on grip type it can really react with the rubber...

your probably better off just using glue its so much easier HINT never use soap for lube to get your grip
