2008 crf250, how do you get rid of fork mid stroke harshness

Hey all,
As the subject says I want to get rid of the mid stroke harshness in my front forks on my crf250 2008.
Spring rates are correct for my weight.
I have tried different oil levels.
I believe changing the shims could correct issue or maybe some sort of re-valve?
I would like to do the work myself if possible. let me know what you think.
