Snapped front fork air pressure release screw

by chris holm » Tue Sep 23, 2008 10:22 am

My mechanically inclined son decided to let the air pressure out between motos and when tightening the screw back in it snapped off - 1/2 still inside. Anyone know an "easy" way to remove it? CRF150R

    Thanks

Once you have the screw out, I would recommend a set of fork bleeders from Motion Pro. I just added them to my bike for under $20. They replace the factory screw with a valve. You can then just push the button on top of the valve to release the air any time with no tools.

Well, the Motion Pro fork bleeders are junk. They are made of plastic and both broke off in the forks while I was installing them finger tight. I got my money back and got some from Anderson Automatics. They are made of metal and are a lot smaller for better bar clearance. They claim to be the only ones made of metal, not plastic. I would definately recommend these.

STR Speed bleeders. Installed them a couple months ago and their high quality. Short, made of metal, and easy to install.

motion pro bleeders are garbage! JUNK JUNK JUNK

    Best bleeders are the Anderson:

They are shorter than the STR ones and dont take a special tool to install. Just simple 8mm deep socket.
