    Shock Help

    Ok everyone so i'm back with my new bike and 04 RM250. I know first a 2 smoke and second a suzuki. But anyways the shock is locked fully extended. The bike sat over the winter on the stand and when i took it off the shock wouldn't compress at all. So whats the problem and how can i fix it?

    A) Buy a Honda 250R ;)
    B) Take it off and send it out for repair
    C) Buy a new after-market (better) shock
    D) Buy a new OEM
    E) Rebuild it yourself
    F) Spray it with PB (Power Blaster) .... then pick A-E if /when it fails....

    Didn't realize the winters where so long in PA.. :twisted:

    Haha the deal was just to good to pass up. Well i was gonna take it off and send it out to have it fixed but i just wanted to know if anyone had this problem before and had an easy fix. The winter wasn't so long here its been nice for about 4 months but i broke my arm (not on a bike) and this is the first that i've been able to ride. And i would buy a new shock but i don't have that kind of money.

    It's most likely not the shock but the bearings and the linkage. They are probably rusted solid. Remove the linkage and inspect that before you throw money at the shock.

    Thats what some other people said too so ill take out the shock and check the linkage and see what the problem is. I hope its the linkage bearings and not the shock.

    If your linkage bearings cheak out ok, your rebound needle is stuck. This is most likly due to little or no preasure in your shocks blader. Its probably time to have your shock serviced. You can release the nitrogen by pusing in your shrader valve and see if there is nitrogen in there. If not your blader is sacked out and that is probably due to the shock leaking. Motopower makes a video on how to service your shock that is pretty good if you want to try and do it yourself (its not hard). You would need a new seal head and oil. Why you are there, Check to see if your rebound needle is free. if it is stuck, you can use a hanger to push it back down. You will also need to check your adjustment assembly that is in your clevis.
