    tuning to rider weight

    by crashtoy2026 » Thu Nov 15, 2007 12:20 pm

i weigh about 220 and want to change the fork springs, but not sure if i need to revalve. but if i do, on a scale of 1-10, how hard would it be. i have above average mech skills but have never torn in to forks. also, i do have a service manual.

    thanks

I would go see Mark at Precision Concepts in El Cajon. He is more than fair with pricing, and does great work. Google search them and research thier reputation. I'm sure you could do it all yourself, but he will take the guess work out of it for you. I assure you it will make a night and day difference on your bike's handling. Even if you decide not to have them do the work, he will give you some advice on spring rates, settings, etc.

Oh yeah, you will notice more difference from the re-valve than springs. If you have them do the re-valve he can put the springs in at the same time and it won't cost you any extra $.
