    450X Springs

by Eric Mac » Tue Feb 13, 2007 9:25 pm

Could someone shed some light on the stock springs that are on my 05 450X?

I just bought a new rear spring and cant decide if I should also replace the front.

If the stocker is pretty close to what I need for my 6'3" 210lb frame, than I will probably just add some extra oil.

I have read that it is set up for a 160lb rider and I have also read that it is set up for a 200lb rider???

Also, what has everyone else been doing with thier 450x suspension? Might be nice for you all to chime in with your height/weight and mods.

210 is too heavy for the stock suspension. then you add another 20lbs. for gear and you're way over the designed spring and valving on the stock suspension.

springs are a must and if you can revalve it all the better.

    Ken,
I already ordered the rear spring. Can you tell me what the rate on the front springs is and what I should buy?

race tech's website has a spring rate calculator that will tell you the spring rates. from their calculator you'll need a 0.48kg/mm fork spring rate.

factory connection offers great springs...you can find them in our online catalog.

    thanks,

    ken
