Anyone tried 20mm offset triple clamps? BRP makes some. Looking to help the 450x turn in the woods.

Love the 22mm Applied triples on my 250X. More solid front end and quicker responding turn in. Haven't had it in the woods yet but PeteK speaks highly of them on his 250X in the tight stuff.

i ride with 22mm on my 450x and love them. 20mm would be more aggressive and i wouldn't recommend them for anything high speed. for slow tight trails they would work very well.

Ditto on the 22's. I now have two rides on my 450X with them and am blown away by the improvement in the handling. Feels like the bike lost 20 lbs due to the increase in manuverability. Just point and shoot your lines as opposed to fighting the bulk.

Have the RG3 20mm on my 450R's and love them. Did notice a little more headhsake at high speed washes, but on the track and tight stuff, it's great. Now I'm trying to figure out a way to adapt a stabilizer to it for desert riding.

Roady, did you try raising your forks at all before going to the 22's? How was the comparison if you did?

What is the stock offset on the 450X? 24mm?

I have 22mm on mine. I think they are the best to go with. They make the bike ride better in ruts and the don't give you the bad head shake like 20mm do.

yes...24mm are the stock offset on the 450x.

I have an 05 450R.

I had the stock clamps with about 5-10mm fork above the clamp depending on the track and it handled realyy good! It did like to stand up in ruts and was hard to keep it layed down for the entire corner.

Now I have the 22mm applied. You have to run the forks at the clamp or about 1-2mm above. The bike does turn more, but really not more than the higher setting on the stock clamps. What it does do is it likes to lay over in the corners now. And it will not stand up in the ruts.

The front end does seem busier than with the stock clamps, but nothing that you dont get use to in about 3-4 rides.

My buddy rode it back to back with his 06 and his comment was "this is a turning machine!!!" I barely got him off the bike.

22mm Applied here.
Great stuff, quicker on it's feet for sure. Not so much of a change where you need significant time to readjust though, in my experience it was a smooth transition and just felt naturally smoother for my style.
I run my forks about ~5mm above the clamps too.
No problems at all with any added high speed headshake like you hear all about either.

Not sure about the 20mm offsets, I'm all set at 22.

what is the stock offset of an 05 crf250r?

02-07 are all 24mm stock.
