If you don't want to drill the hole in the bike, you can use a longer screew on the plastic brake guard attachment, and attach the hub spin detector side with that screw, then the trailtech peice just sits under the brake guard plastic, attached by the longer screw, then i just used the magnetic screw (provided by trailtech) as the rotation monitor source, instead of the other round magnet. Then to keep my other trip meter on, I just strapped on the trailtech mount on top off it with a strong zip tie (this tip may not be that good, but mine hs stayed on so far) and it tracks good bike speed there fairly accurately.
