My 450X OEM fork guards have turned pretty ugly and want to replace, but I can't find any with the odometer cable mount. Are there any aftermarket parts or am I going to have to retrofit some R model guards?

They do get a ugly yellowed out look fast. I used some fork protector stickers to cover mine and they came out really nice. They have held up really well also. As you stated there were no "X" model replacements so I chose to do the stickers. The only off color area still seen is right around the edge and hardly noticeable. I was always going to go around the edge with a black permanent marker to make it perfect but never got to it.
Just an option for you. Otherwise it's use a "R" model new protector and just fab up the bracket location mount.
