    AP Diaphragm deteriorated inside carb

    by Stella87 » Wed Nov 29, 2017 8:11 pm

I just pulled the carb to rebuild and rejet and found the AP Diaphragm to be completely deteriorated... Have a look at this!
I sprayed a bit of GUNK non chlorinated Carb and parts cleaner through my bike when I first got it a few weeks ago, and it even ran (albeit not every well) both before and after I sprayed the carb cleaner in. Is that stuff okay for MC carbs? Or is this level of deterioration more likely from the bike sitting for along time.

Could be spray most of them attack rubber, or fuel with ethanol will harm rubber.

Yep, that is the results of our fuels with ethanol then then carb cleaner put the final kill shot to it. Carb cleaner is a no-no for the rubbers on carbs.

Never us any carb cleaner in an assembled FCR carb. You likely also have a deteriorated floating valve seal. Both the AP diaphragm and the floating valve seal should be replaced. We offer an updated AP kit with an improved diaphragm and the floating valve seal.
